1/2 Hour Dramedy Series

Status: Script & Treatment

Logline: A woman who owns a taxi service “by women for women” because of her crippling fear of men makes a promise to her sister to be her bridesmaid in one year, now she has twelve months to conquer her phobia and join the other half of the world.

Synopsis: Phoebe and her boy crazy sister, Emmalina, fly to Europe to sell an apartment they inherited from a rich aunt. After the sale, the plan was to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime European vacation, but their trip is sidelined when Phoebe gets mugged. The attack reactivates a childhood trauma that triggers a devastating case of androphobia (fear of men).

Leaving the safety of their Aunt’s apartment becomes impossible for Phoebe. Weeks turn to months and months to years and while Emmalina is on a quest to leave no man untried, Phoebe is doing her damndest to avoid them. Since they live together, Phoebe is constantly confronted by her sister’s conquests to terrifying effect. Other than her sister’s paramours, Phoebe has honed her avoidance tactics to a T. She owns “Ladybug Taxies: A Taxi Service by Women for Women,” and is one of Amazon’s best customers.

But when Emmalina finally falls in love and gets engaged she makes Phoebe promise to be her maid of honor at her wedding in twelve months. Now Phoebe has exactly one year to conquer her fear and get her life truly under control.

She’ll attempt to do this with exposure therapy – literally exposing herself to ever-increasing amounts to what terrifies her most. On her journey, she’ll have the support of Emmalina and a band of good-hearted misfits: her best friend, Dani, a lesbian who also happens to be one of her drivers, and later, Scarlett/Mika a very feminine drag queen who takes Phoebe under her wing and turns her on to the power of drag. We’ll also travel back in time to discover what triggered her androphobia, and how she dealt with it in the beginning.
